Sense of taste

 During topic time this week, we tried a range of foods to learn more about our sense of taste! We tried lemons, limes, chocolate, popcorn and apples! As you may be able to tell from some of the photos, we found the lemon and limes really sour on our tongue!

During Big Maths this week, the children have been learning to measure surface area. We used counters and gem stones to measure the area of a variety of shapes. We found that the cat shape had the largest surface area with it requiring 179 gem stones!

Do you like our beanstalks?

Following on from our castles topic last term, we will now be focusing on  Fairy tales as our new literacy topic. This week, we read Jack and the Beanstalk which really captured the children's imagination! We planted our own magic beans and we are eagerly waiting to watch them grow into beanstalks!
