Aiden and Corey have been attending cooking classes every Thursday after school. Tonight they are cooking chicken nuggets. Yummy!

O'clock and half past

We have been consolidating our telling the time skills this week using a range of activities. The boys and girls are becoming much more confident in reading o'clock and half past times.

Our sense of hearing

As part of topic time, we took our learning outdoors and went on a listening walk. It was so interesting what we could hear when the playground was really quiet. Afterwards we cranked up the volume by making music shakers using plastic bottles and bits and bobs from around the classroom.

Using our senses!

We have been exploring our senses through a range of activities! The children wore blindfolds and relied on their sense of smell and touch to figure out what was in front of them! Pinning the tail on the donkey whilst wearing a blindfold wasn't as easy as the children expected! It reinforced how much we rely on our eyes to make sense of the world and to navigate ourselves around.  The children challenged themselves to complete simple tasks like writing their name or building a tower whilst wearing a blindfold. We all agreed it wasn't as easy as it seemed! Arya and Olivia are testing their memory by taking an object away and asking their partner to guess which one is missing. Eye spy with my little eye.....

Paired reading

We have teamed up with Miss Baxter's P6/7 class this term for a weekly reading session! All the children have a P6/7 buddy who listens to them reading and then afterwards reads a story to them. It's a lovely session and the children are really enjoying it so far.
