Rainbows



We have been thinking and learning about Rainbows this week during topic time. We conducted an experiment with a plate of skittles to examine what happened to the colours when we added warm water. We were very excited by the results!





After reading The Rainbow Fish, we discussed what important qualities were needed to be a good friend. Afterwards we designed our own rainbow fish.

During Big Maths this week, the children have been learning to measure surface area. We used counters and gem stones to measure the area of a variety of shapes. We found that the cat shape had the largest surface area with it requiring 179 gem stones!

To help with our money counting skills, the children designed their own shops. Afterwards, we took it in turns to visit each others shops, buying items and using coins to pay with the correct amounts.
